Description

Comments on a remark in Herschel's letter of 28 January 1842 (MM/11/166), relating to the printing of magnetical observations made at 'colonial observatories'.

Sabine suggests that observations should be made at intervals of 2 minutes and is multiples rather than 2.5 and its multiples.
