Published in Philosophical Transactions [10 years after being read], as 'A new way of measuring the difference between the apparent diameter of the Sun at the times of the Earth's perhelion and aphelion , or when the Sun is nearer or to or farther than Earth, with a micrometer placed in a telescope invented for that purpose; tho the charge or magnifying power of the telescope is so great , that the whole Sun's diameter does not appear therein at one view'
