Autograph letter signed by sender. Still in a recumbent position and finds writing awkward. Sympathizes with John Frederick William Herschel's position in the col d'aspin, as he is afraid of precipices himself. Has had a letter from Captain Stevenson. Last quarterly was interesting on Louis Philippe.
