Has found a seventeenth-century mathematical manuscript amongst Francis Baily's papers with John Frederick William Herschel's handwriting on it; can he explain the mystery? There is also a letter from P. L. M. Maupertius to James Bradley, which he proposes sending to the Royal Society [of London]
