Description

Autograph letter signed by sender. John Frederick William Herschel's last letter has given him great pleasure. Thanks for his hints about observations. The instruments at St. Helena Observatory. Payment of carriage on books sent abroad. Difficulties over the printing of the Cape observations. [François] Arago has sent him a paper on [John] Brinkley. Progress with the triangulation of the U.S.A.
