Description

Loose copies of letters from John Herschel to Charles Wheatstone, arranged in chronological order and preceded by a typed index indicating previous locations (Box n.2.) and previous shelfmark. Mentionson part of a former wrapper pasted on the index that "13 copies sent by [Robert] Sabine Esq, Aug 12th 1876 together with the originals. The copies revised by [Isabella Herschel] & the originals returned".
Robert Sabine (-d. 1884) was Wheatstone's son-in-law.
Note "all catalogued".
Created as part of the correspondence project led by Colonel John Herschel FRS following the death of his father.
