Bound notebook labelled n.1 on Ralph Wedgwood copying book. Copy letters from multiple senders arranged in chronological order. The copying book was created using a copying machine, with a manifold writer, a patented invention to copy multiple copies of an original.
Likely used as part of the correspondence project led by Colonel John Herschel FRS following the death of his father.
