Description

Copy of letter, copied as part of the correspondence project led by Colonel John Herschel FRS following the death of his father. Will not urge government to construct a great reflector at the Cape; believes it should be done through private funding; does look forward to the time when his work on southern skies will be reexamined. [See Thomas Robinson's 1849-10-21.]
