Description

Copy of letter, copied as part of the correspondence project led by Colonel John Herschel FRS following the death of his father. A strong letter on behalf of the provision of financial support for Professor [James David] Forbes, along with John Frederick William Herschel's personal statement of belief in the need to free distinguished scientists from teaching duties.
