Description

Copy of letter, copied as part of the correspondence project led by Colonel John Herschel FRS following the death of his father. John Frederick William Herschel replies (to HS 15.389) that neither John Frederick William Herschel nor his father held that the moon influenced the atmosphere, though John Frederick William Herschel does connect a full moon with a clear sky. [Eliza] Hamilton, sister of W. R. Hamilton, has published some poetry that is not well known, but deserving. Cannot accept foreign order.
