Copy letter, from Sir John Herschel to Dionysius Lardner, dated at Slough
Reference number: HS/21/24
Date: 1 August 1828
Description
Copy of letter, copied as part of the correspondence project led by Colonel John Herschel FRS following the death of his father. Is quite prepared to contribute an article on Light by 1830 for Dionysius Lardner's Cyclopaedia. Would like William Whewell as the contributor on Sound. Suggests other names. Would not like to use colored plates as they are so poor. Gives him an idea of the style of engraving.
