Copy of letter, copied as part of the correspondence project led by Colonel John Herschel FRS following the death of his father. Thanks for the publications by Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel that Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel sent. John Frederick William Herschel has sent the copies to the persons Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel designated. Discusses the 'enigmatical difference in the places of the stars as observed here & on the Continent.' Cannot explain this.
