Summaries of letters related to Karl Gauss made by Sir John Herschel, likely as a calendar of exchanges related to the Royal Astronomical Society.

1. dated February 11 1821, letter announcing election of Gauss as Associate member of the RAS, notes that the secretary copy of the letter is preserved (likely HS/8/72)
2. May 31 1821 sends first report of RAS Council and [James] South's corrections
3. in faint pencil, "Feb. 18. Annouced election. see copy of letter"
4. Aug. 3 1825 - " A letter by Graham introducing him and calling his attention to the determining of the elliptic elements of revolving double stars".
