Description

Contemporary copy in sender's hand, signed by sender. Received prospectus of Kew observatory. Its objectives seem incompatible. It appears better suited as experimental institution. Refer Francis Beaufort to John Frederick William Herschel's 11 Oct. 1835 letter to Beaufort defining physical observatories.
