Autograph letter signed by sender. Describes the Cape Botanical Garden, which is finally opened. Congratulates John Frederick William Herschel on the marriage of John Frederick William Herschel's daughter [Caroline Emilia]. Copper mining in the colony successful. Will move to a new cottage.
