Autograph letter signed by sender. Is pleased that John Frederick William Herschel approves of the photographs. Previously purchased W. H. Smyth's equatorial, the tube and object-glass made by [Thomas?] Cooke. Had a visit from Smyth recently and he advised William Keith Murray to prepare a paper for the Royal Astronomical Society
