Copy letter, from Sir John Herschel to Hugh Percy (3rd Duke of Northumberland), dated at Cape of Good Hope

Reference number: HS/13/348

Date: 12 June 1835

Description

Copy of a letter. Responds to Hugh Percy's generous offer [see Hugh Percy's 1835-1-21] by saying John Frederick William Herschel does not need the money, and then suggests that Hugh Percy might want to use it to support the publication of John Frederick William Herschel's results from his stay at the Cape. Extracts from post-scriptum: the reductions of the observations will all be completed before Herschel quits the Cape.
