Letter, from E. S. Newall to Sir John Herschel, dated at St. Rogue, Clifton

Reference number: HS/13/119

Date: 25 February 1870

Description

Autograph letter signed by sender. John Frederick William Herschel's kind letter and enclosures came when she was ill, which accounts for the delay in replying. Is exceedingly grateful for all the autographs. Her brother-in-law [R. S. Newall] has erected a 25 telescope at Gateshead and doubtless would be pleased to show it to John Frederick William Herschel. Would be grateful for any photographs to go with the autograph collection."
