Description

Autograph letter signed by sender. B.A.A.S. have been trying to arrange their 1846 meeting at Cambridge. William Whewell alone is opposed to this suggestion. Everyone agrees that John Frederick William Herschel should be the next president when the Dean of Ely retires. Can they have John Frederick William Herschel's views.
