Description

Thanks for Norwood's letter; encloses some enquiries which the Society would like to know about Bermuda and the West Indies [Caribbean], particularly about tides, whales, the longevity of the people of Bermuda (see 'Philosophical Transactions', vol 1, no 11, p 186 for Robert Boyle's list for compiling a natural history of any country); wishes him to observe any eclipses of the moon and tells him to look at Mr Rook's methods for this found in 'Philosophical Transactions', vol 1, no 22, p 388; concerns the building of a new college for the Society; sends a copy of the 'History' of the Society

A note from Charles Howard to Mr Norwood is enclosed within the letter which gives instructions about how to prepare fruit, seeds, plants, roots for transportation
