Beverely's letter to the Royal Society conveys information supplied by Mr Petto about his observations of the sun seen in Sudbury, Suffolk
Note by Hans Sloane to Dr Wallis, dated 11 November 1698, states that the Royal Society, after hearing the letter on 9 November, wanted the opinion of Wallis on this matter
