Advice on propagating trees in Ireland and elsewhere saying that grafts of trees, rather than the trees themselves or seeds, should be ordered; discussion of different varieties of apple eg. redstreak, golden pippin for cider-making; concerning trials using cider made from pippin apples and from redstreak fruit
Letter initialled by Beale and endorsed by Oldenburg: 'Jan. 31 62. Extract of Dr Beals letter to M. Oldenb. for spreading Ciderfruit in Ireland, and proposing stocks for grafts; comparing also the redstrake with other cider-fruits'
