Description

A philosophical discourse concerning hydrostatics, particularly regarding aerial bodies. Bates is inspired by Wm [William] Molyneux's treatise titled 'A discourse on this problem; why bodies dissolved in the menstrua specifically lighter than themselves, swim therein,' published in Volume 16, Issue 181 of Philosophical Transactions in 1686 (see CLP/6/42).
