Evelyn describes a method of marbling paper, describing the way of making the dyeing agent and the recipes for creating specific colours, including blue, yellow, green, and red. Includes three figures in margins in the text.

Read to the Royal Society on 8 January 1661 [1662]. Two weeks later, Evelyn's method was actually tried and it 'succeeded'.
