Description

A list of recipes for dying straw arranged by colour. List includes 'Pourfain du vert' ['For the green'], 'Pour faire du rouge' ['For the red'], 'Pour le violet' ['For the violet'] and 'Pour faire de l'orange' ['For the orange']. Main body text is in French, very few notes are in English. Notes at the top and bottom of the page that the recipes were acquired in Bretaye, Switzerland, and that they were communicated to Hooke by Mr. [John] Evelyn.
