Description

Desaguliers describes experiments undertaken to observe whether 'points in a wire touch'd by a loadstone, would keep the same distances after the wire was made longer by being drawn thro a smaller hole in the wire drawer's steel tool, or whether the distances would encrease in the same proportion as the wire was lengthen'd.'
