Description

Ward presents information on the history of Widgel Hall, or Widihale, in Hertfordshire. The first page of the letter contains notes to the printer of Ward's papers. Also attached is a letter, dated 14 July 1734, from Francis Gulston about the history of Widgel Hall.

The letter relates to papers published by Ward in Philosophical Transactions as 'Remarks upon an ancient date, found at Widgel-Hall near Buntingford Hertfordshire, on an oaken plank; now preserved in the Museum of the Royal Society, London' and 'Remarks upon an ancient date, over a gate-way, near the cathedral, at Worcester'
