Reference number: CLP/14i/35

Description
Molyneux discusses the differences between instances of bladder stones appearing in men versus women, and then provides an example of a woman in Dublin [Ireland] who passed a bladder stone naturally through her urethra after suffering pain for several months. Molyneux describes the size, shape, and texture of the stone. Includes a figure of showing the bladder stone.
This was part of an account by Thomas Molyneux of treating women with stones without an incision. His paper was first delivered to the Dublin Philosophical Society on 14 July 1691. The paper, with some additions, was sent by Owen Lloyd to Richard Waller, Secretary of the Royal Society.
