Unpublished paper, 'Cotton - air - moisture testing (the CAM-test)' by W [William] Lawrence Balls

Date: 1939-1944

Description
Balls presents 'a description of the final form of apparatus and method by which the moisture content of a cotton sample can be determined with much less accuracy than by the oven-test, but in five minutes only. Its accuracy is shown to be good enough for transactions on country cotton.' He notes that trials on the apparatus have been 'interrupted by the war'.
Annotations in pencil and ink throughout. Includes seven diagrams of experimental apparatus and results. Includes a table of contents.
