Reference number: AP/80/6

Date: 1890

Description

Wilde writes on the 'nebular hypothesis of the evolution of planetary systems from a gaseous substance'. He states: 'I was led to inquire how far the nebular hypothesis, in conjunction with the knowledge of electricity and magnetism accumulated during the last 300 years, would contribute to the explication of the phenomena of terrestrial magnetism.' He presents his observations on the subject.
