Unpublished paper, 'On the continuity of effect of electric radiation and light on matter and on the molecular strain theory of photographic action' by Jagadis Chunder Bose
Reference number: AP/74/13
Date: 1900
Description
Bose aims to identify the general effect of radiation, visible as well as invisible, on matter; whether or not it is possible sometimes to obtain similar effects through agencies other than radiation; and 'the various molecular after-effects by which we are able to distinguish one portion of a substance acted on by radiation from another portion which is not so acted on.'
Annotations in ink throughout.
Subject: Physics / Chemistry
Received 7 November 1900. Communicated by Lord Rayleigh.
Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 70 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'On the strain theory of photographic action'.
