Unpublished paper, 'Contributions to the theory of alternating currents' by W G Rhodes
Reference number: AP/73/12
Date: 1898

Description
This paper is divided into two parts: Part I concerns a method of finding the steady values of alternating currents in any circuits or systems of circuits, without having to perform integrations of differential equations 'which may be somewhat complicated'; Part II is devoted to the consideration of the effects of higher harmonics in electromotive forces and currents on the values of the impedances and reactances of circuits.
Subject: Electricity / Mathematics
Received 4 January 1898. Read 10 February 1898. Communicated by [Arthur] Schuster.
Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 62 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Contributions to the theory of alternating currents'.
