Description
The authors continue their research into arrow-poison ('Preliminary notice on the arrow-poison of the Wa Nyika and other tribes of East Equatorial Africa, with special reference to the chemical properties and pharmacological action of the wood from which it is prepared', volume 53 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society). Their detailed description of the natural history, chemistry and pharmacology of Acokanthera schimperi is preceded by 'an account of the arrow-poison employed by tribes inhabiting districts of Central and Tropical East Africa.'
