Hannay's paper is divided into six sections: 'The relations of lead and sulphur', 'Specific gravity of sulphide of lead', 'Methods of analyses', 'Furnace reactions of lead compounds', 'Lead smelting' and 'New metallurgy of lead'.

Annotations in pencil throughout. Includes two pages of figures of crystals and a graph.
