Description

The work which has resulted in the present paper was begun in Freiburg [Germany] in the summer of 1888, when Parker obtained a number of fresh specimens for examination. He presents detailed anatomical and physiological observations.

Received 14 May 1891. Read 28 May 1891. Communicated to the Royal Society by W H [William Henry] Flower.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 49 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'On the anatomy and physiology of Protopterus annectens'.

A version of this paper was published by Parker in the Transactions of the Royal Irish Academy: Parker, William Newton. 'On the Anatomy and Physiology of Protopterus annectens.' The Transactions of the Royal Irish Academy, volume 30 (1892-1896), pp. 109-230.
