Unpublished paper, 'On the causes of the phenomena of terrestrial magnetism, and on some electro-mechanism for exhibiting the secular changes in its horizontal and vertical components' by Henry Wilde
Reference number: AP/66/29
Date: 1880-1890

Description
Wilde writes: 'The nebular hypothesis of the evolution of planetary systems from a gaseous substance, rotating under the influence of a central force, suggested to me 12 years ago, some ideas respecting the origin of elementary substances, which led to the discovery of certain definite quantitative relations subsisting between astronomical and chemical phenomena.'
Includes two maps and a photograph of an electromagnetic globe.
Subject: Electromagnetism
Received 22 April 1890. Read 19 June 1890.
Written by Wilde at Alderley Edge [Cheshire, England].
