Description

Meldrum shares a series of tables recording data on rainfall and sunspots, and presents his observations on the data.

Annotations in pencil and ink throughout. Marked on front as 'Archives June 15/76'. With accompanying correspondence with George Gabriel Stokes, and Meldrum's response to feedback on his paper.

Received 14 February 1876. Read 9 March 1876. Communicated by Balfour Stewart.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 24 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'On a secular variation in the rainfall in connexion with the secular variation in amount of sun-spots'.
