Description

The paper consists of observations made on the uteruses of nine unnamed women who had died in different stages of the monthly period. Williams presents case studies for each of the women.

Received 21 March 1874. Read 30 April 1874. Communicated by [William] Sharpey.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 22 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'The structure of the mucous membrane of the uterus and its periodical changes'.
