Unpublished paper, 'Observations of the absolute direction and intensity of terrestial magnetism at Bombay [Mumbai]' by Charles Chambers
Reference number: AP/51/2
Date: 1869

Description
Chambers presents observations on the magnetic dip, declination and intensity of the horizontal component of the force. The observations were taken with instruments supplied to the Colaba Observatory in the year 1867 through the Kew Committee of the British Association, after having been tested at the Kew Observatory.
Subject: Magnetism / Meteorology
Received 5 April 1869. Read 13 May 1869. Communicated by the President [Edward Sabine].
Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 17 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Observations of the absolute direction and intensity of terrestial magnetism at Bombay'.
