Description

Two pages of figures submitted by Hulke to accompany his paper 'Note on the blood-vessel-system of the hedgehogs' retina'. The figures show a posterior segment of the eyeball, a vertical section of the optical nerve entrance, vertical sections of the retina and vertical sections of the minor layers of the retina. Followed by one page of explanations of figures. Note on front in pencil reads '1868 Drawings not published in Proc with paper'; note in red ink reads 'With 2 sheets of drawings'; note in biro reads 'Illustrations to paper'.

Subject: Biology / Physiology

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 16 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Note on the anatomy of the blood-vessel system of the retina of the hedgehog'.
