Description

Cruikshank places his work on the nerves of animals within the context of the work of other scientists of his time, including [Albrecht von] Haller, attempting to fill gaps in their work. Cruikshank recounts his experiments on the nerves of dogs, attempting to determine the origins of certain nerves. Includes minor corrections throughout in ink, with some corrections and footnotes appearing on verso of pages.

Addressed to Joseph Planta, Secretary of the Royal Society. Written by Cruikshank in London. Received by the Royal Society on 5 December 1776.
