Radcliffe presents observations and results from his experiments into the action of a galvanic current upon a nerve, finding 'curious alternating movements' when a current is made to act upon lumbar and sciatic nerves.

Includes illustrations in the text of the flow of a galvanic current through the leg of a frog. Marked on front as 'Archives'.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 10 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'An inquiry into the muscular movements resulting from the action of a galvanic current upon nerve'.
