Description

Phillips writes a second series of observations and experiments on the function of the liver and the source of bile, how it enters the blood, and how it separates from the blood in the liver.

An ink inscription across top of first page reads 'No date - No title - By whom communicated?'

Phillips' first series, titled 'On the secretion and uses of the bile' was abstracted in Abstracts of the Papers Printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London.
