Secchi shares a physical description of the new observatory of the Roman College, including the meridian and equatorial rooms and the equipment they contain.

Includes two figures relating to the construction of the observatory.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 8 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Description of the observatory of the Collegio Romano at Rome'.
