Description

Waller aims to determine 'the exact influence exerted by the fibres arising from different sources which are intimately blended together in the trunk of the mixed vagus'. He describes a series of anatomical dissections and experiments carried out principally in the laboratory of [Jean Pierre] Flourens at the Jardin des Plants [Paris].

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 8 of volume 8 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Account of experiments on the vagus and spinal accessory nerves'.
