Joule writes to offer his corrections on a paper by Dr [Thomas] Woods which was abstracted in the Proceedings of the Royal Society for 10 January 1856 (see AP/38/3): he believes he has been misquoted by Woods in the abstract.

This letter was published in full in volume 8 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Letter from James P. Joule, Esq. F. R. S. to Prof. Stokes, in reference to the paper of Dr. Woods read on the 10th of January 1856'.
