Description

Herapath asks Stokes to announce to the Royal Society that he has been engaged in investigating the optical and chemical properties of some crystalline compounds of iodine and strychnine. He describes these compounds as 'strongly indicative and peculiar'.

This letter was published in full in volume 7 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Letter from Dr. Herapath to Professor Stokes, on the compounds of iodine and strychnine'.
