Description

Lowe shares meteorological observations and remarks. Includes tables charting thunder storms between the period 2 January 1841 and 11 February 1850, with barometer readings, direction of wind, highest and lowest thermometer readings for each storm.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 5 of Abstracts of the Papers Printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London [later Proceedings of the Royal Society] as 'Observations on 287 thunder-storms made at highfield house, near Nottingham, during the last nine years'.
