Wartmann, Professor of Natural Philosophy at the Academy of Lausanne, shares details of experiments he has undertaken using a Locatelli's or an Agard's lamp with a parabolic reflector. He describes sources of heat, apparatus for polarisation, diathermanous bodies, electrical apparatus, thermometric apparatus, and his results.
