Description

Goddard writes regarding the important discoveries he has made regarding the Daguerreotype and specifically with regard to the means of preparing the silver surface of the plates. Enclosed within this letter, dated 2 March 1864, are three additional letters from Goddard, dated 2 March 1841, 2 March 1864 and 24 March 1864 respectively. The letter dated 2 March 1841 contains two experimental portrait photographs.

Includes one page of diagrams showing a process for preparing the surface of the plates.
